Zinc & Zinc Alloy Electroplating with Passivations

Zinc & Zinc Alloy Electroplating Products with Passivations

Acid zinc and cyanide-free alkaline zinc plating systems with trivalent and hexavalent chromate passivations for bright, corrosion-resistant deposits.

Overview

Marshal Laboratories manufactures complete zinc and zinc-alloy electroplating systems of high cathode efficiency, producing uniform, bright metallic deposits compatible with a wide range of passivation systems. Two broad categories of chemistry are offered — a high-temperature-stable acid zinc process and a purely water-based, eco-friendly cyanide-free alkaline zinc process — together with a full range of modern trivalent and traditional hexavalent chromate conversion passivations. The processes suit both rack and barrel operations.

Acid Zinc Plating Process

User-friendly, low-consumption additive system that remains stable at higher electroplating-bath temperatures. Deposits are lustrous bright with a uniform laminar microstructure that enhances corrosion resistance, and are compatible with multiple passivations across rack and barrel operations.

Key Features

  • High-temperature stable
  • Low-consumption, user-friendly additives
  • Suitable for rack & barrel operations
  • Lustrous bright deposits with uniform laminar microstructure
  • Enhanced corrosion resistance
  • Water-based and solvent-based organic additives available
  • No sludge build-up — solution stays crystal clear
  • Compatible with multiple passivations

Technical Data Sheet

Cyanide-Free Alkaline Zinc Process

Purely water-based, eco-friendly cyanide-free chemistry with very low additive consumption, delivering excellent uniform bright deposits. The additives increase cathode efficiency for faster electrodeposition — especially in barrel plating — with very low hydrogen gas evolution, making the system highly user-friendly. Can also be used for Zinc-Fe deposition.

Key Features

  • Purely water-based, eco-friendly cyanide-free system
  • Very low additive consumption
  • Higher cathode efficiency for faster electrodeposition
  • Ideal for barrel plating
  • Very low hydrogen gas evolution — user-friendly operation
  • High corrosion resistance
  • Uniform thickness distribution
  • Honeycomb microstructure
  • Can also be used for Zinc-Fe deposition
